Christmas Tree in G Hotel lobby
The Xmas festive joy is underway at the G Hotel Gurney where a giant 20-feet Xmas tree stands at the lobby of the hotel adorned in shades of green and gold.
Hand-made ornaments, lighting and a star, the tree topper are among the attractions for the Christmas tree.
The hotel’s theme of “A Time To Give” brought together children from the Salvation Army’s Penang Children Home to write down their Christmas wishes.
Most of their wishes were for items such as clothes, watches, football, stationaries, sport shoes, school bags.
The Salvation Army Boys later serenaded with melodious festive songs to make the atmosphere lively. This was followed by a special dance performance by them.
The hotel has been carrying out the tradition for the 7th year running.
On hand to mingle with the children was their general manager Michael Hanratty and other heads of departments.
“It is a joy and pleasure to see the young children having a good and fun time during this festive season,” he says.
Come Dec 21, the children will receive their gifts which they had earlier jotted down.
Some 150 guests gathered at the G Hotel Gurney Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
