Play time for Salvation Army children @ PARKROYAL Penang Resort
Some 28 children from the Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home here were hosted to a day of fun and laughter at the PARKROYAL Penang Resort as part of the resort’s commitment to care for the local communities.
Upon arrival at the resort, the special guests were greeted by the resort’s marketing communications manager Lim Hui Hui and activities manager Razali Mohammed.
The children, aged between five to 17 years old, were accompanied by four caretakers.
The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home is a non-profitable welfare home for boys, the Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home aims to aid children in need, especially those who have been neglected, poor or orphaned.
The children were then ushered to Koko-Nut Kids Club for an indoor game where they were challenged to build the tallest building using only newspapers and masking tapes.
The activity educated them on problem solving, creativity and team work skills.
After the games session, the children were escorted to the resort’s family pool where they had a splashing great time with the younger children at the paddling pool while the rest of the children enjoyed themselves with water polo and water volley ball games.
At the end of the fun play at the resort’s pool, the children were treated to a hearty lunch.
“It is not often that the children get to come to a resort for such a wonderful time and if given a choice they could play all day.
“It is a great experience for them and I am sure the children will cherish every moment of it,” said M. Vijaya the representative of The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home.
