Star Cruises’ partners appreciation night

Valued travel agents were feted to a night of fun and glamour when Star Cruises hosted some 120 of them on-board the Superstar Libra recently.

On hand to welcome the guests were the top management of Star Cruises led by the President of Star Cruises Ang Moo Lim, Head of Sales ASEAN / North Asia / Australia / India, Senior Vice President, Genting Cruise Lines, Michael Goh, and Vice President of Sales, Genting Cruise Lines, Cynthia Lee.

Guests were adorned in black and a touch of gold in keeping with the theme for the night.

The annual gathering was also to acknowledge the tireless efforts of sales agents in growing the Star Cruises’ brand and supporting the overall cruise industry in Malaysia.

“We are extremely honoured that many of our travel partners are here today to join us on board SuperStar Libra, as we celebrate another year of excellence with Star Cruises.

“Tonight, we pay tribute once again to our travel partners and their amazing dedication and achievements in promoting Star Cruises and making Star Cruises what it is today – The Most Popular Cruise Line in Asia,” said Ang in his welcoming address.

Some of the travel agents who celebrated their birthdays on board SuperStar Libra.

The night proceeded with an interesting line-up of entertainment that included the performance by Malaysian actor and comedian Harith Iskander, who had bagged the “Funniest Person in the World 2016” award.

Iskander brought infectious humour and laughter on board. The night was also filled with delectable food, and amazing lucky draw prizes on board the newly launched Genting Dream mega super luxury cruise liner.

Among those recognised for their exceptional contributions towards promoting Star Cruises throughout the year were Airlink Travel & Tour, Hwa Yik Tour & Travel, Hwajing Travel & Tours, Keris Travel & Tour, Lye Peng Travel & Tours, Malaysian Harmony Tour & Travel, Overseas Tours & Travel, Poto Travel & Tours, Resorts World Tours and Vacation Hub Travel & Tours.

Andalusia Travel & Tours, Ho Wah Genting Holiday and Intratama Travel Consultant & Tours were recognized as “Honour Partners of the Year”.

Three product managers namely Anthony Ing from Malaysian Harmony Tour & Travel, Lee Yean Wee from Vacation Hub Travel & Tours and Liew Lai Mei from Hwajing Travel & Tours were applauded for their exceptional performance by receiving the “Star Ambassadors of the Year” award.

Star Cruises has been operating its fleet since 1993, taking on the bold initiative to grow the region as an international cruise destination with a fleet of six vessels including SuperStar Virgo, SuperStar Libra, SuperStar Gemini, SuperStar Aquarius, Star Pisces and The Taipan.

Star Cruises’ commitment in offering best-in-class services and facilities is reflected in a host of recognitions and accolades received over the years.

These include being inducted into the prestigious Travel Trade Gazette’s “Travel Hall of Fame” for a ninth year in 2016 in recognition of winning “Best Cruise Operator in the Asia-Pacific” for 10 consecutive years.

Star Cruises was also recently voted “Asia’s Leading Cruise Line” at the World Travel Awards for a fifth year in a row in 2016.
