Tropical Charters a head above others

Tropical Charters Langkawi is a leading yacht and boat operator that has trumped its peers with its superior insurance protection scheme that makes safety as its top priority.

Its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Alexander Issac said the company has differentiated itself by providing insurance coverage for tourists booking for water-sport and non-water sports packages.

“We are the only company in Langkawi that provides full insurance for that added peace of mind to highlight the fact that safety is our primary concern.

“Our commitment to uphold worry-free holidaying differentiates us from other boat operators.

“Putting our guests at ease is the crux of our objective, and this safety net measure from our insurance coverage is what sets us apart from the rest of the pack,” he said.

Known as the Travel Shield, the insurance pays out benefits in the event of death and permanent disability to tourists who signed up with Tropical Charters for ground tour packages, including cruise, yacht, catamaran as well as ferry services between Kuah jetty and Koh Lipe in Thailand.

Tropical Charters has opened another sales service centre for guests’ convenience to book ground packages at Nadias Hotel, located at the heart of the bustling Pantai Cenang stretch recently.

The latest centre is an addition to its existing main One Stop centre next to its Langkawi office in Pantai Tengah.

Meanwhile, Tropical Charters has bagged the Asia Australasia Awards 2017 in the category of Charter Company of the Year awarded by Luxury Travel Guide. The award presentation will take place in London come November.

The award has thrust the company into the limelight of the international yachting and boating industry.

“We are the sole recipient of the award from Langkawi and this speaks volume of our outstanding quality of our service,” Alex said.

At Tropical Charters, the mantra is to meet the tourists’ requests, as Alex put it aptly, “We aim to provide what our guests want, from affordable cruises to high-end ones. We will get it done.”

This boat operator – with its tagline ‘setting sail on journeys unmatched’ has continued scaling new heights in cruise and private charter arrangement. As a good corporate citizen, the company has hosted about 2,400 students and 700 teachers on the educational cruise to get close and personal with Langkawi which is recognised as a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The company’s fleet consists of eight yachts as well as power boats and catamarans. Recently, Tropical Charters scored a first in Langkawi with the adoption of green technology by retrofitting a luxury catamaran, known as “Kasi Chan La” with solar power recently.

‘Kasi Chan La’ is retrofitted by his in-house engineering staff and started operating since it was commissioned to sail on Merdeka Day on Aug 31.

It is the only full-fledged insured cruise operator in Langkawi. In 2015, it clinched the Best Boat Operator award at the International Langkawi Travel Award Night.
