Aficionados of fine wine can now look forward to a comfortable stay at the heart of a vintage vineyard with hotel-like facilities to go along your holiday.
One such facility available is in the Bordeaux region of France is Chateau Haut-Bailly which is about 15 kilometres from the city centre of Bordeaux atop a hillside that has been home to vineyards for over four centuries.
Guests are welcomed year round for private visits, home-cooked meals and customised receptions.

Overlooking nine hectares of vineyard is Chateau Le Pepe which offers an elegant 18-century house which was built in 1872 and gardens along with bright and comfortable bedrooms.
The suites come from sizes ranging from 420 sq ft to 750 sq ft complete with a serene atmosphere and setting.
One can enjoy breakfast overlooking the vineyard or enjoy reading a book in the living room while immersed in the quietness of the gardens or sunbath by the pools.
The chateau also offers up to 40 car parks and also space for buses.
The private rooms at the chateau are available for exquisite pairing of fine wines and the seasonal cuisine of Haut-Bailly’s own chefs.
The winery tour comes with a lunch or dinner at the chateau with starter, main course, selection of French cheeses, desserts, coffee and assortment of sweets and without fail vintage wines.
They also offer seminar, workshop and conference rooms catering up to 60 people with a small welcome breakfast and coffee breaks upon request.
The visit to the barrel cellars offers guests an insight into the techniques and methods that go into making Haut-Bailly which includes wine tasting from the estate.
