CNY Lou Sang @ The Top Penang

Usher in the Lunar New Year with a sumptuous reunion dinner with your family members and be mesmerised with a fabulous fireworks display during the countdown on Chinese New Year eve.

The Top Penang at Komtar is introducing a “dine in the clouds” dinner package that includes a 360 degree view of a fireworks display on Feb 4 at its Coco Cabana Restaurant on the 68th floor.

Visitors and members of the Press tossing Yee Sang with the Gods of Prosperity, God of Longevity, Happiness and Fortune.

The all-new dining experience will set the stage for a happy and prosperous Lunar New Year under the watch of the beautiful Penang skyline at night.

The Rainbow Skywalk, also on the 68th floor, will be opened throughout the countdown to give diners an exciting feel. It is the highest outdoor glass skywalk in Malaysia.

The glass walkway shaped like a horseshoe takes only about 20 steps to complete. Even for those who have a phobia for height, it is challenging and worth the effort to walk on it for a picturesque view below.

Other entertainments for the countdown night include a “LED” lion dance, a unique water drum performance, magic show and live music. Children can also watch out for the magical snowfall.

Spicing up the event will be four mascots representing the God of Prosperity, Longevity, Happiness and Fortune. They will make their rounds to distribute mandarin oranges to diners. Mandarin oranges are significant during the Chinese New Year celebrations as they symbolize good fortune and long life.

Also, for party-goers, this is a good opportunity to gain a whole new experience of partying on Chinese New Year’s Eve. However, they need to buy tickets for entrance.

Apart from the reunion dinner, there are also dinner promotions throughout the festivity from Chinese New Year Day Feb 5 to Feb 19, at Coco Cabana and Top View Restaurant.

As a prelude to the Chinese New Year celebration, The Top management invited visitors and members of the mass media to a special Yee Sang tossing ceremony held on a 37-meter long table on January 25.

The Yee Sang tossing is popularly held on the 7th day of the Chinese New Year celebration. According to the Chinese tradition, that day is considered as “everybody’s birthday”. The tossing of yee sang is to herald in a new year of success, wealth and good health. The higher and the more vigorous the toss is, more blessings will come.
