In conjunction with the celebrations the management of the mall also sponsored some 100 underprivileged families to household essential goods as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Over at the Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas, shoppers will be feted to a “Bangsawan” dance show nightly with a backdrop of an old traditional house constructed at the foyer of the mall and a Gamelan musical performance.

The Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya launched its “Wonderful Raya Memories” celebration recently to bring back the essence and fond memories of Hari Raya celebrations for shoppers.

To create more of the festival vibe and feel, the foyer of the main mall has taken on a kampung setting befitting the festive mood.

A traditional kampung house has been built on stilts complete with a veranda and furniture to bring back vivid memories of kampung life.

There is also a free-standing swing to spark sweet childhood reminders with a splendid view of beautiful wisterias for the perfect photo opportunity along with lighted “Ketupat” lanterns with its path leading to the main kampung house.
