Sari Pacifica Group General Manager Jasmy Othman is a man with a mission to make Aseania Resort & Spa Langkawi Island (Kedah), a hotel under his wing, to continue scaling new heights.
Jasmy is also brimming with multiple talents- thanks to his rich experiences in managing hotel, theme park and wildlife segments, as well as branding for hotel merchandise.
He is honoured to be working for the former tourism minister Tan Sri Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, the owner, and very inspired by his boss’ razor-sharp foresight.
Jasmy looks after five properties under the group; namely Sari Pacifica Beach Resort & Spa Redang Island and Sari Pacifica Resort & Spa Lang Tengah Island (both in Terengganu), Sari Pacifica Resort & Spa Sibu Island and Aseania Beach Resort Besar Island (both in Johor) and Aseania Resort & Spa Langkawi Island (Kedah).
“I joined Tan Sri Kadir and share his vision to bring about a paradigm shift to move Langkawi forward. The change has led Aseania Langkawi to improve by leaps and bounds but we will keep moving ahead to make the resort even better.
“Our aim is to provide the resort with the highest possible comfort level alongside a good variety of entertainment a model that is in line with Tan Sri Kadir’s rich experience in tourism development before,” he said.
Jasmy says he is proud and satisfied seeing how the resort has morphed into the leading resort that offers guests an enriching experience not found elsewhere in Langkawi.
“Tan Sri Kadir has been a source of inspiration not only to myself but to the entire team here at Aseania and I am grateful with what he has done to groom me to what I am today.”
Aseania is strategically located between Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah, the two most happening beaches in Langkawi. Though the resort started operations in 1992 at a time when the country was hit with a recession, it rode the tide and survived well.
The resort sprawls 15 acres with the rainforest as its backdrop and has the longest hotel swimming pool amid a mini water-theme park surrounding in the northern region.
With 232-rooms available in various categories, a full range of spa services, F&B outlets, Aseania has upgraded to a 4-star resort after a series of refurbishment costing almost RM10 million recently.
Under Tan Sri Kadir’s watch, Aseania has applied the concept of Malaysia Truly Asia a tagline that put Malaysia firmly on the global tourism map that was mooted by Tan Sri Kadir himself when serving as the Tourism Minister previously.
The Malaysia Truly Asia Extravanganza is a world-class cultural dance show with fire blowing feats that is playing to a full house. While visiting Langkawi, do not miss out on this must-see dinner show event. Showtime is four evenings a week and soon will be a daily performance by 2018.
“Diners can soak in the lush greenery from the rainforest backdrop next to the waterfall of the swimming pool, while enjoying the dazzling performance show from the diverse ethnic groups including the bamboo dance and blowpipe demonstrations from East Malaysia.
“We are a leading nightclub courtesy of our nightclub – Marrakesh Musicteque Club, the largest club in Langkawi alongside the seafood restaurant. The club is safe for everyone to patronise with security measures in place and its facilities are world class standard.
The resort has recently introduced a privilege membership card which holders are entitled to 15% discount on rooms and eateries in the resort that caters to team building and tele-match packages for corporate bodies.
Aseania Resort & Spa Langkawi is within walking distance to a plethora of restaurants, bars and shopping at the bustling Pantai Cenang. It offers the best ever stay experience for guests, regardless of their preferences, and particularly for families whose children have a soft spot for water theme park.
