“Kiwanis One Day” gathering

“Kiwanis One Day” gathering

The Kiwanis Club of Bandaraya Ipoh will host “Kiwanis One Day” gathering at Ipoh South Gate in Medan Pulai Hartamas on Saturday Oct 28, 2017.

The aim of Kiwanis International is to empower communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children.

It also provides a positive influence in communities worldwide with the aim that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

Similar events will be organised by other Kiwanis clubs elsewhere in the world. There will be a series of fun-filled activities, workshops, family-bonding moments and learning.

Kiwanis International is always looking out for needy kids in every corner of the globe with its over 600,000 volunteers who serve their communities through local clubs.

They are generous with their aid and are creative with their ideas and passionate about making a difference.
Among the activities in Ipoh are colouring contest for kids putting their creativity on a piece of paper and the coloured pieces will be printed on shirts for them to confidently wear their own creations.

Others events include fun sessions for children to be dressed up like a character for a fun photo opportunity and to make the moments memorable.

The “Little Tauke” session will teach kids to own a business for a day with activities like selling goods to passer-by and attendees at the event.

This will help teach them the value of hard-earned money and donating part of the profit to good causes while the little chef project will showcase Ipoh’s well-known pastry chef, Chef Siew. and his team.

The children will also try their hands on making pastries and learn how easy it is to make and bake.

The Face-painting & Clown Acts will bring out the carnival-like atmosphere to the Kiwanis One Day event where parents and other professionals will be participating to give a special “treatment” to the kids’ faces for photo opportunity.

“Kids who have singing ability are given the chance to showcase their vocal talents while dictionary for needy kids will be given out free.

“Another exciting programme will be the “Wishing Trees” for kids to write their wishes and if their wishes are reasonable, we will try to fulfill them. Each participant will also be given a cactus plant.

“Sponsors are encouraged to sponsor a kid for RM50 which comes with a goody bag,” said organising chairman Stephanie Chang
