The Royal Langkawi Classic Car Show returns to Langkawi with its second edition that promises a bigger show at Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in August.
The show from 10 to 12 August 2018 will see over 50 vintage and classic cars on display, including 8 classic cars driven by their owners from Thailand to Langkawi.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see some antique car make and models from as early as 1934.
In addition to the display, the proud owners of these cars will be competing in a show and shine competition that offers trophies and prize amounting to RM30,000.
The panel of judges are international judges; Mr. Jason Lemberg from San Diego, California and Mr. Haydar Kirmani from Pakistan, and Mr. Michael Sundram, a veteran Malaysian judge.
Two special awards, Langkawi Cup and the coveted Sultan’s Choice Award are up for grab. There are 5 other categories this year, namely Vintage (before 1945), Classic 1 (1946-1965), Classic 2 (1966-1975), Modern Classic (1976-1990) and a new addition to this year’s show – Japanese Classic or JDM (up to 1991).
Organised by My Classic Cars in collaboration with Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), the show is the only classic car show in Malaysia to receive a royal accolade.
Alongside The Royal Langkawi Classic Car Show is The Royal Langkawi Cat Show which will see some 60 cats from various origin, such as Persian, Mainecoon, British Shorthair, Bengal, Munchkin, Abyssinian and Domestic Shorthair/Longhair.
There are three Special awards namely Sultan’s Choice Award, Prime Minister’s Choice Award and Menteri Besar’s Choice Award, and a trophy of Piala Meow Langkawi 2018 together with cash prize of RM4,000.
The competition is divided into 2 categories with 4 divisions, Adult Shorthair, Kitten Shorthair, Adult Longhair and Kitten Longhair. Category winner will walk away with a trophy of Piala Meow Langkawi 2018 and cash prize of RM1,000.
In conjunction with the above, The Royal Langkawi Golf Festival and Langkawi Cup Golf Tournament will also be held from 10 – 12 August.
