The invention of action video camera has enabled user engaged in various action-packed activities to shoot first-person video as he sees it happening before his eyes. However the video clips produced are often jumpy as the cam would move violently with the person shooting it.
Sony had taken the image stabilisation technology to greater heights with the launch of 2 new action cam recently, namely the Sony FDR-X3000R 4k and HDR-AS300R Full HD models. With Sony’s patented B.O.SS (Balanced Optical SteadyShotTM) technology which has been rolled out across Sony’s premium Handycam® range and for the first time has been adapted for use in the Action Cam.
Mr. Satoru Arai, Managing Director of Sony Malaysia, said with users’ needs in mind, Sony has continuosly improve and outperform others with products of highest quality and greatest techonology.
“The video produced is so good you will be proud to share and show the world,” he said.
Mr. Timothy Gan, Product Marketing of Action Cam revealed that the new Sony Action Cam comes with Live-View Remote which is approximately 30 per cent smaller than its predecessor and may be worn like a wristband or attached to various optional accessories so that users can have live view even if the action cam is mounted on their helmet.
With its underwater housing and waterproof of up to 60m underwater, Key Opinion Leader of Sony Action Cam, Mr. Baron Abas, the Director of Photography and Ms. Stacy Chee, the Professional Diving Instructor are deeply impressed with the results as they tried out these new action cam for their diving trips. The footage is so good it is accepted for use by National Geographic Channel.
Besides these, a range of accessories have been developed to compliment the use of these action cams, which include various mounting kits, lens protector, finger grip, clips and action monopod and etc.
I had a chance to try out the Sony FDR-X3000R 4k Action Cam myself when I was invited to witness its launch at District 21, in IOI City Mall recently. The light-weight cam is mounted on the helmet as I tried out the Roller-glidder in the themed park. The video recorded was as clear and steady as it was shot on steady ground even when I was flung left and right violently. It is simply impressive.
