Back to school theme for hotel staff

It was ‘back to school’ for staff members of G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai when they celebrated at their 10th anniversary recently together with the top management team. 

Some 47 employees from G Hotel Gurney who reached milestone years of employment were given formal acknowledgement during the ceremony for helping to attain both G Hotels’ business success, goals and values. 

The fun and excitement has everyone dressed in school uniforms while some even carried in their hands school bags befitting the theme.

The overwhelming attendance saw more than 300 staff attending the celebrations. Among the highlights were the staff performances and contest.

The sumptuous buffet dinner was served by the heads of departments and board of directors to show their appreciation to the employees.

The opening performance by the heads of departments was filled with fun as they engaged in a lip sync battle with each other by acting and dancing to hits from the 90s and current hits.

The lucky draw session offered attractive prizes like luxury hotel stay vouchers, Iphone, Tabs, Drone and a Honda EX5 motorbike being the grand prize. 

The event also served to recognize employees who have served the hotels with long-term dedication and commitment.

Nineteen employees who have served the hotel for five years in G Hotel Gurney received a G logo trophy, certificate of appreciation, in-house buffet dinner vouchers and RM120 cash award each.  

The longest service employees received a gold pendant, certificate of appreciation, in-house buffet dinner vouchers and RM250 cash award presented by board director Phuah Choon Meng. 

The Best Employee Award 2017 went to Khaw Yean Siang from F&B department and P. Kannan from Engineering department. 

Both received certificates of appreciation, RM500 cash award and a trophy presented by board director David Eng and general manager Michael Hanratty. 

“This year, while we celebrate our 10th anniversary with all the staff, we are also happy to see our employees attaining these tremendous achievements. 

“We really appreciate each and every one of them for their contributions, dedications and loyalty they have given to the hotel,” said Hanratty.
