Rock to Rock Run 2017 for a good cause
Some 2,000 runners took part in the Rock to Rock Run 2017 in the name of charity and community service to raise funds to build a zinc roofing above the assembly area of Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Ferringhi.
A sum of RM70,000 was raised at the run. Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Ferringhi was first established during the British era in 1909 and due to limited space does not have a field to conduct sports and recreational activities.
As such, the assembly area in the centre of the school is utilized for sports and recreation by students.
There was overwhelming response to the charity run as registration had to close early after hitting the 2,000 mark. Competition was held for the Fun Run (3.8km) and Competitive Run (10.2km). All runners received a Rock to Rock Run T-shirt, certificate of participation, finisher medal and entitlement to the lucky draw.
The run was flagged off by the State Exco Youth and Sports, Women and Family and Community Development Chong Eng along with Hard Rock Hotel Penang General Manager John Primmer.
